I know that I haven't updated this thing in over three weeks, but I have been back at work and you know how it goes. I'm just gonna put it out there right away - I have no pictures to share this time. I will take another belly pic on Monday at 16 weeks and post it (it's growing)! And we went to the doctor today, but our ultrasound picture is no good.
The reason that it's no good is because the baby was wiggling and jumping SO MUCH that it is just a blur! My doctor tried about 6 times to snap a good one, but the baby would not be still :)
He/she was standing on it's head, beating me with it's fists and kicking up toward my ribs at a million miles an hour. Kevin and I, and even the doctor, were surprised at how active it was! When I asked my doctor, he confirmed that what I have been feeling for the last week and a half has definitely been the movement. That is so exciting! We also got to see adorable little fingers, toes, and the spine and ribs. For some reason I just think that baby feet ( both in and out of the womb) are the sweetest thing! It was the best feeling I have ever experienced to see our little one so busy in there!
On a not-so-positive note, we will have to wait FIVE WEEKS until my next appointment, and that is where we'll find out the sex of the baby. Will it be Jaxon Wayne or Emma Lynn? September 26th will bring the answer!
Also a downer, my doctor was quick to point out my rapid weight gain and borderline high blood pressure. No more salt or being in the heat for my blood pressure. As far as the weight goes, he said I'm not overweight and since I'm tall I can gain a bit more, but that I need to take it easy. Great. I'm starving and I can't go walking (because of the heat) to burn all of the calories that I SWEAR I need to be eating! This should be interesting.
Despite all of these downers, and the fact that we waited 2 hours to be seen and the doctor literally beat us out the door at the end of our appointment, it has been the best day! I will be on a high from seeing our baby for quite some time! Oh, and we also heard the heartbeat for the first time! It was very sweet.
I'm going to stop here and not write anything about school, even though that is the (very close) second on my mind right now, considering it starts on Monday. I'll save that for another day!
OH! But I do need to share the fact that I GRADUATED ON SATURDAY with my M.Ed!!! No more Lamar!!! Until they create their Ph.D program, that is. ;)
Have a great night!
