Our Christmas celebrations began on Saturday evening with Christmas at Nana and Papa's house, and continued Sunday with a fun Santa appearance at a party with our friends and neighbors! Monday we headed to Temple for 4 more celebrations and then Christmas morning at home followed by lunch and presents at Granny and Grandaddy's house in Bryan! We are SO BLESSED with wonderful family and friends, and with the fact that (even with the rough times lately) we were able to give Jaxon a great Christmas to remember! He was the epitome of sheer joy!
Today Mammaw, Pappaw, and Aunt Lindsay came to visit and spend some quality time with Jaxon. We went to the Christmas in the Park celebration in our neighborhood and Jaxon screamed in terror at the thought of sitting with Santa. He then played in some fake snow in 80 degree weather...weird but fun. After that we drove over to the new park at the back of the neighborhood and took advantage of the fact that everyone else with kids was still at the front of the neighborhood. Then we went out to a Mexican dinner. Jaxon was about ready to go insane if he didn't get some queso NOW! In the car he said "Oh man, queso." Then he said "I'm gonna eat queso and go bye-bye." He is so funny!
Kevin is hunting with a buddy this weekend but will be home tomorrow. It's been fun to have some company, and it's been a great day!
I haven't written in over a week, but things have just been so busy lately! I have several pictures to catch up on, but for now I'm just going to share a few recent videos of Jaxon. He is talking NON-STOP, in complete sentences! I can almost always understand what he's saying. He is so much fun!
I have to share two quick stories before I get to the videos. Yesterday Jaxon spilled his drink all over himself while sitting at his table and eating a chocolate pretzel. He opened his mouth to cry and the pretzel fell out. He yelled "OH MAN!!!"
Then today I dropped him off at school and he said "Mommy I need check on vaccuum." Luckily his teacher understands his odd obsession and pulled it out of the closet for him. He circled it once, looking it over, patted it, and declared "Okay." He cracks me up!
We traveled to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving to be with Jaxon's Grammy and Pop-pop, and from there we went to Waco for the day to celebrate Thanksgiving day with Grammy's family. It was a wonderful trip, and Jaxon really loved spending time with his grandparents!
On Friday evening we came home, and then his Mammaw and Pappaw came through town on Saturday morning to spend the day with him before heading back to San Antonio early this morning. He is one very lucky little guy to have so many people who love him!
A couple of weeks ago we headed out to Dewberry Farm for some family fun. We didn't think we were going to make it this year with our schedules so crazy, but we did! Jaxon had a blast. Here are some pictures of our adventure!
(Unfortunately I have used up all of the space on my blog for pictures, so you can view them by clicking on the link below)
Jaxon is passed out tonight after a LONG and EXCITING Halloween! His day started with a school party and trick-or-treating. Kevin was able to attend the party and take some cute pictures!
Early this evening we rushed home and got ready for our FIRST ANNUAL Halloween block party! We got together with all of our friends and ordered pizza, and we each brought a Halloween treat. I made the grave pudding and the ghost cookies!
I am so thankful for the number of little kids that Jaxon will grow up with on our block. It is truly amazing! And their families are all our friends - great people. We are very blessed.
Then it was time to go in and change for trick-or-treating!
This weekend we traveled to San Antonio to visit my family and go out to the South Texas Maize! It was so much fun and Jaxon had a blast! He played with pumpkins, rode barrels behind a tractor, fed goats, played on hay, "drove" a tractor, swung, ate a picnic, and went through the corn maize. It was a great family fun day. Here are some pictures!
We got back to Houston around 5:30 this evening and I've been busy unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning, packing lunches, and getting dinner ready in the crock pot for tomorrow! Now it's finally time to relax. Have a great week!
